Hearty Roots Community Farm is a family farm based in Clermont, NY, in the Hudson Valley. The farm is run by Ben and Lindsey Lusher Shute along with a great crew of hard-working farmers, using sustainable and organic practices to grow the freshest, healthiest, tastiest food for our community. We are a first-generation farm, and our land base has grown over the past 20 years from just 3/4 of an acre of rented land, to now over a hundred acres of vegetable fields and pastures.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is the heart of our farm, and we produce a wide variety of certified organic vegetables, while also caring for sheep, pigs, bees, and a flock of laying hens. We also have an on-site Farm Market, where we sell our own produce plus all sorts of regional farm products.

The Main Season CSA (roughly June–November) is available at six locations in the Hudson Valley (on the farm in Clermont, and in Red Hook Village, Rhinebeck, Woodstock, and two locations in Kingston), in Manhattan on the Upper West Side, and through four CSAs we partner with in Brooklyn (the Bay Ridge CSA, East Williamsburg CSA, Greenwood Heights CSA, and Greenpoint Williamsburg CSA). The Winter CSA is available at the farm in Clermont, in Kingston, and with the four CSAs we partner with in Brooklyn.
